Weigh it (or estimate)
Stand on a bathroom scale with and without the frame. Add 25% to be safe.

Pick the anchor
<10 lb: any drywall anchor. 10-30 lb: rated picture hooks or screw into a stud. 30-75 lb: toggle bolts or studs. 75+ lb: studs or French cleat into studs.

Mark and install
For toggle bolts: drill the package-specified hole, push the toggle through, pull the toggle flat against the back of drywall while you tighten.

Hang and level
Hang the frame, step back, level it. For frames with wire backing, gently shift the wire side-to-side on the hook to level.
